What's Happening at HVES

Birch Trees and Syrup - MAY 1st 2025

Mr. M's class tapped some birch trees in one of the forests close to HVES this month.  The class have been returning to the trees to collect the birch sap each day, throughout the month.  The class have collected over 100 litres of sap and are boiling it today to make syrup.

Hide Camp - April 28th to May 2nd
Hello everyone, 
A reminder of our upcoming visits to Hide Camp! Standard bus will leave the school at 10:30am and leave the camp at 12:00pm.  Please see your student(s) schedule below.

DOGSLEDDING at HVES!

A big thank you to Deb Knight for bringing her dog team to Hidden Valley School on April 4th 2025, so that students and staff could learn and participate in some fun activities.  Everyone involved had a great time!

​ CLUBS AT HIDDEN VALLEY

Intramurals and clubs are taking over the school! Teachers and students are having fun taking part in recess, noon hour and after school activities geared towards multi-ages and student interests. Everything from sports, dance, art and all things TITANIC are included! (up to date as of March 25th 2025)

ANIMALS, ANIMALS, EVERYWHERE!
Students at Hidden Valley have had some amazing opportunities in January, February and March to experience hands-on learning about animals that live on our traditional territory. Animals included marten, elk, wolf, lynx and wolverine! Themes that were explored across Grades were: biology, ethical harvesting, First Nations ways of Knowing and Doing, all things math and much much more!
